Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First thing is to wet your dry spot so the soil can be more easily worked.

  2. Step 2

Drive a rod into the ground to make holes about 6 inches apart and half inch deep. A pointed old broom stick would work just fine.

Or, if you have a water pipe as seen in the picture you can poke holes in the ground with that. A water pipe is merely a pipe that has been connected to the garden hose.

  4. Step 4

Broadcast (spread by hand) some grass seed around the bare spot. Concentrate on getting seeds into the holes you just made.

  5. Step 5
    Add topsoil mix

Cover the area with about a half inch of top soil mix. Water very gently so as to not wash any topsoil or seeds away.

  6. Step 6

Sprinkle lightly 4 times (or more) a day for a week and you should begin to see some green popping up. Keep it damp.

Tips & Warnings
  • Poking holes in the area does far more good than just raking it. Be sure to be gentle with your sprinkling.
