Step 1
First thing you need to do is go to google and type in "google keyword tool". This is a free tool that google provides to whomever wants to use it. This tool will provide you with all the information you need to find profitable keywords.
-
Step 2
Once you get to the page you will see on the left hand side a section that says "How would you like to generate keyword ideas?". In this section you have 2 options. You can either generate keywords based on descriptive words or phrases such as "how to lose weight fast" of you can generate them based on website content. If you choose to generate them based on website content you would just type in a website address such as "www.fatloss4idiots.com" and it would give you keywords based on the content of that website.
-
Step 3
Next you will type in the characters it asks you for and then click "get keyword ideas". A long list of keyword ideas will pop up. These are all keywords that people have typed into the search engine. You can use these keywords to write articles around if you do article marketing. Next to the keywords you will see 3 things. Advertiser competition, local search volume for the previous month and global monthly search volume. The advertiser competition shows you how many advertisers are bidding on those keywords. Don't shy away from competition. Just get in there and be aggressive and you will reap the benefits. The local and global monthly search volumes show you just how many people are searching for those exact keywords. With these keywords you will never run out of ideas for articles, videos, podcasts and any other form of marketing you choose to do.

Step 4
The last thing I always like to do is check and see the average cost the advertisers are paying per click. To do this look right above the keywords in the right hand corner and you will see a drop down menu titled "choose columns to display". From that menu choose "show estimated avg. CPC". I am a huge article marketer so this gives me an even better idea of what the most profitable keywords are. If an advertiser is willing to pay $2.13 for a single click then I know that keyword is making them money so I target it in my article marketing. Some say you shouldn't go after the most competitive keywords but I say why not. If you are aggressive enough with your marketing you will make money no matter how competitive the market is.
