Things You'll Need:
- An open mind!
-
Step 1
Bread - Read the labels carefully. Choose whole wheat varieties that have 3 grams (or more) of fiber per serving.
-
Step 2
Pasta - Choose whole grain pasta and brown rice. They taste almost the same and contain more fiber than regular pasta and white rice.
-
Step 3
Fruit - Berries such as blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries are all good sources of fiber.
-
Step 4
Vegetables - Choose dark green, leafy vegetables like broccoli and spinach as they are rich in fiber.
-
Step 5
Dried peas and beans such as kidney beans, lima beans, black-eyed beans, chick peas and lentils are all great sources of fiber.
-
Step 6
FiberOne makes a great line of products including cereals, toaster pastries, snack bars, yogurt and more that contain good portions of fiber. They taste great!
-
Step 7
You can also use fiber supplements in other foods. For example, when I make chicken coated with bread crumbs, I use one serving of a powdered fiber supplement in the coating. You can't taste it but you get your fiber anyway!
