Piles of papers, trashy treasures, clothing, collectible, the list of things that can clutter your rooms go on and on.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Timer, Trash Bags, Time.
  1. Step 1

Take things one step at a time. If you need to cut clutter throughout your whole house then just start with one room. If you need to cut clutter in your room then start with a corner. Breaking a large project down into smaller projects makes the tasks more manageable.

  2. Step 2

Set the timer for 10 minutes, or if you desire more. But make sure you set the timer for a small amount of time.

  3. Step 3

Cut the Clutter. Have a Bag for Trash. A Box for Garage Sale items/or item's you will donate to charity. And a Box for things you must keep. Go through your items and release the clutter from your home. Have a goal. Such as to get rid of 1000 things. The things that you haven't used lately need to go, with the exception of seasonal items.

  4. Step 4

If you get "stuck" or don't know where to start: just pick something up. And remember "Less Is More!"

  5. Step 5

After the timer goes off-you can just keep resetting it until you are finished. The timer is a great tool. It is amazing the amount of progress you can make in 10 minutes. And momentum will set in and you will get a lot accomplished.

  6. Step 6

Clean up. Throw away your trash. Clean the area that you have just worked on. Take the things you want to donate to the drop off location.
