Step 1
To plant grass seeds, Place a bag or two of top soil in your wheel barrel. After pouring the bags out, make sure to break up any big chunks that may be present.
-
Step 2
For each bag of top soil you placed in your wheel barrel, place a handful of grass seed in the wheel barrel. For example, if you used two bags of top soil, place two handfuls of grass seed in the wheel barrel.
-
Step 3
Use a shovel or any other type of tool to mix in the grass seed with the top soil. Make sure that you mix the seed thoroughly. You don't want to have a clump of seeds in one section.
-
Step 4
Once you have the soil and grass seeds mixed, simply take your shovel and shovel out the top soil where you need to plant the grass. You only need a very thin layer so don't pour inches and inches of your mix into one spot.
-
Step 5
Once you have your top soil and grass seeds placed in the right spots, set up a sprinkler system to make sure your seeds get enough water. Grass seeds require a lot of water so be ready to water them! Try to plant your grass seeds right before scheduled thunderstorms. This will save you money and ensure the seeds get the proper water for a few days.
