Instructions

  1. Clean Up Spilled Perfume With Household Items

    • 1

Use a soft, damp sponge to wipe up the spill. Once you have absorbed as much of the perfume spill as possible into the sponge, pour a small amount of white vinegar onto the spill area. Use a wet vacuum to soak up the vinegar-coated area.

    • 2

Allow the spill area time to dry. Once the area is dry, scatter some baking soda onto the spill site. Then, use a standard or wet vacuum to soak up the baking soda-covered area. This should completely clean up the perfume spill.

    • 3

Place three bags of cat litter around the spill site. Use scissors to cut a small three-inch slit at the top of each litter bag so that no litter can spill out. The cat litter will help absorb the perfume smell into the litter bag.

    • 4

If possible, open the windows in the room that contains the spill. Spray some fabric refreshener and odor remover (such as Febreze® spray) onto the spill site every few hours to aid in eliminating the perfume odor. Run a fan in the affected room(s).

    • 5

Light a few unscented candles in the room that contains the perfume spill. You might also light a candle in any other rooms that may be affected. Using unscented candles will capture and reduce the perfume smell in the air.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never leave lighted candles unattended.
