Wrap Boxing Handwraps

Anyone who has considered taking up boxing--or using boxing as a means to get in shape and lose weight--should learn how to properly wrap his hands with boxing hand wraps. These wraps are designed to help you avoid taking too much trauma to your hands and causing serious damage, such as breaks in the hand and fingers.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Put your thumb through the loop at the end of the boxing hand wrap. Bring the wrap over the back of your hand and then wrap the wrist between 2 and 3 times. Make sure your hand is open with your fingers spread slightly and keep your hand relaxed.

  2. Step 2

On the second or third time wrapping your wrist, bring the wrap up across the back of the hand. Now bring the wrap across your palm and in between your thumb and index finger, and wrap your knuckles two or three times.

  3. Step 3

Bring the wrap all the way around your thumb and then back across your wrist.

  4. Step 4

Alternate wrapping the wrist and knuckle area of your hand until what's left of the wrap has been used.

  5. Step 5

Secure the wrap around your wrist with the Velcro straps on the wrap.
