Learning and perfecting the heel flip trick on a skateboard is an essential building block for learning more-complicated tricks and combinations of tricks. In order to do this move effectively, you will have to know how to do a trick known as an "ollie," which is a jump on a skateboard.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Put your back foot on the tail of the board and place your front foot in the center of the board, just slightly behind the front bolts.

  2. Step 2

Snap the tail of the board down so that it hits the ground and pops up into the air. Jump in the air as you do this and slide your front foot up the board with your toes hanging off the edge of the board.

  3. Step 3

Flip the board while it's in the air, using the heel of your front foot. The board is supposed to flip side over side.

  4. Step 4

Slam the board back to the pavement after the flip with both feet positioned over the bolts on the board, and then roll away.

on 11/20/2009 I am way better at kick flips than heal flips, never quite got them smooth. I am going to go out and practice.
