Things You'll Need:
- Cape or towel Disposable waterproof or rubber gloves Cold cream Comb Non-metallic stirrer
-
Step 1
Perform a skin test 48 hours prior to using Bigen to ensure you will not have an allergic reaction to the product. Place a pinch of prepared Bigen on a small area of clean skin, and leave it on for 48 hours. If you have any signs of irritation, do not use Bigen.
-
Step 2
Wear disposable waterproof or rubber gloves, drape a protective cape or towel around your shoulders and apply cold cream around your hair line and on your outer ears to prevent staining.
-
Step 3
Pour Bigen into a bowl that is not made of metal and add luke-warm tap water in the measurements specified for your hair length. Mix thoroughly with a non-metallic stirrer. As a general guide, use a whole bottle of Bigen powder mixed well with 5 Bigen measuring cups of tap water for shoulder-length hair. Use less for shorter hair. Two bottles of Bigen may be needed for long hair.
-
Step 4
Apply Bigen mixture immediately to clean, dry hair, and comb through until your hair is completely covered. If you are coloring gray hair, apply the Bigen mixture to that area first.
-
Step 5
Leave Bigen on your hair for 20 or 30 minutes, checking color development periodically by swiping hair strands with a tissue or cotton ball.
-
Step 6
Rinse your hair in warm water until the water runs clear.
-
Step 7
Shampoo your hair with a mild, moisturizing shampoo and rinse. Apply a conditioner for color-treated hair and rinse thoroughly.
