How to Make CD & DVD Covers
You can protect your CDs, DVDs, and game software with a cover. A paper cover is a great way to get a customized and unique design while recycling paper. You can go green without purchasing traditional plastic covers from the store. It will take you less time to make paper covers than to stand in the checkout line at your local office supply or computer supply store. The steps to make CD and DVD covers are easy. This is a project that would be fun for kids and teens on a rainy day.

1
Find a rectangular sheet of paper to recycle to make the CD and DVD cover. For example, you could use a piece of junk mail, old printed-on computer paper, the comic section of the newspaper, or even old class notes.
-
2
Lay the sheet on a flat surface. If one side is plain, place that side down and the printed side up facing you.
-
-
3
Place the CD in the top center of the short edge of the rectangle. Slide the CD so half of it is lying on the table and half is on the paper edge, while keeping it in the center.
-
4
Fold the long edge of the paper toward the center of the CD. Repeat with the other side. At this point, you have the CD in the center of the paper (with half sticking out on the table) and two edges folded on top of it.
-
5
Make a firm crease on both sides. When both sides are folded over the CD, lift the CD and the paper and fold it up toward the center of the paper. Take the other end of the paper and fold into the center of the paper over the CD. At this point, the CD is completely covered on both sides with paper.
-
6
Make a firm crease on the final fold made in Step 5. Unfold. Grab the top corner piece and fold inward (should look like a triangle) about half an inch. Crease firmly. Repeat with the opposite corner on the same edge. This will make the top cover of case.
-
7
Tuck the top and bottom into each other to complete the CD and DVD cover.
