How to Remove Network Worm Virus

Computer viruses have been plaguing PC users for decades. There are literally hundreds of viruses wreaking havoc on computer systems, collecting and reporting personal data for nefarious reasons, and spewing advertisements everywhere. Worm viruses spread across networks and have a backdoor element that gives unauthorized users access to any networked computer through an IRC (Internet Relay Chat). The worm is usually spread by sending infected emails to everyone in your contact list. The Network.VBS virus has hit thousands of computers. You will have to track down and delete a number of files to get rid of this particular pesky virus.

Instructions

1. Click "Start," then "Search," then "All Files/Folders."

2. Enter "network.vbs" into the search field and click "Search."

3. Delete all instances of this file, except the one located in C:\WINDOWS\SAMPLES\WSH. The file in this folder is harmless.

4. Open Windows Task manager by pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL on your keyboard.

5. Under the Image Name column, look for "network.vbs." If the process is still running, highlight it and click the "End Process" button.

6. Restart your computer.
