How to Cure a Lazy Eye

Amblyopia is also called "lazy eye". This disease mostly affects children. It occurs when the brain has problems connecting to the eye therefore the signals are not properly communicated.

      Treat your eye as soon as possible. If you see that one of your eyes is straying off then you need to go to a doctor to help you diagnose this problem.

      Usually glasses will be prescribed to help correct the lazy eye.

      The doctor may also suggest surgery to correct or straighten the eye muscles. It can help both eyes cooperate together.

      Eye exercises are very beneficial. They help relax the eyes and help them regain focus and sharp eyesight. The patient may use Bate's Method. He was a doctor who invented eye exercises such as palming and believed that these exercises improved eyesight.

      The optometrist may prescribe medication such as eye drops or pills to help soothe the eyes.
