Things You'll Need:
- a blender
- ice
- strawberries (or any kind of berry)
- yogurt
- banana
- sugar
-
Step 1
Smoothies are the perfect summer treat. You can be infinitely creative when it comes to smoothie-creation. They have a range of properties; they can resemble a desert or a protein shake! Here is a recipe for something more in between!
-
Step 2
Put 1/2 cup of ice in the blender, along with 1 cup strawberries, 1/4 milk or soymilk, and 1/2 cup vanilla icecream or nonfat yogurt. Icecream obviously has more fat, so if you want something healthier use yogurt (it's just as delicious in my opinion!). Add 1/2 cup sugar (or less if you prefer), and blend!
-
Step 3
Strawberries are particularly delicious, but any berry will do! All berries are high in vitamin C and antioxidants. If you want more of a filling snack, add 1/4 more milk/soymilk and a banana.
-
Step 4
Blend up smoothie on high speed for about 2 minutes. Can be stored in fridge for about 3 days. Enjoy!

on 8/13/2009 My kids and I made this today. We doubled the recipe (except we used half the sugar and used strawberry yogurt instead of plain.) I think next time we'll leave out the sugar alltogether and maybe even add a banana! WONDERFULLY DELICIOUS!
