How to use cheats in the Sims 3

Playing the Sims 3 can be fun but sometimes you want a little more control. Entering certain cheats can enable you to build more advanced lots or even give your Sims more friends.

Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

1. After you make your Sims, place them into a lot and you are in gameplay, type ctrl+shift+c on your keyboard. A small typing area will open up at the top of the screen for you to type the cheats into. On a Mac, you may need to press the command key rather than the control key. If you are using Windows Vista, you may need to press Alt as well as ctrl+shift+c if the typing area does not show up otherwise.

2. Once this area has shown up at the top of your screen, you will need to first type "testingcheatsenabled" and press the enter/return key to enable the Sims 3 to use the cheats.

3. Now you are free to type any cheat that is available for the Sims 3. To show a display of most of the available cheats, you can type "help" and press the enter key. After every cheat you will need to press the enter key.

Tips & Warnings

• If you want to build a mansion for your Sim family but do not have enough money, you can use the "motherlode" cheat to increase your money quickly.
