Things You'll Need:
- 6 cups hot mashed sweet potatoes (prepared without milk and butter)
- 1 cup milk
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 18 large marshmallows

Step 1
My grandmother makes this dish on holidays. It is a tasty dish that adds color to the table. You will first need to boil your sweet potatoes. You will need six cups of mashed sweet potatoes that are still hot that you did not add butter or milk to. Then in a separate mixing bowl you will add other ingredients.

You will need to add the milk, brown sugar, butter, egg, cinnamon, vanilla, allspice, salt, and nutmeg. You will beat this mixture until it is smooth. You will need to grease a 2 1/2 quart baking dish. You will then transfer the sweet potatoes mixture into the baking dish. You will need to preheat your oven to 325 degrees.

You will need to bake the casserole at 325 degrees uncovered for forty five minutes or until it is heated through. Then you will remove from the oven and top with the marshmallows. Then in you will place it back in the oven and cook 5 to 10 minutes more or until the marshmallows are puffed and beginning to turn brown.
