  1. Backing Up QuickBooks Files

      Insert your backup storage device into your computer.

      Access the "File" menu in QuickBooks and select "Back Up."

      Choose the "Back Up Company File" tab. Click "Browse" to change the name of the file and to specify the backup location.

      Click "Save" and "OK" to back up the file.

    Restoring QuickBooks Files

      Go to the "File" menu in QuickBooks and select "Open or Restore Company."
