How to fix CD scratches with things you already have at home

Tired of letting your friends borrow your CDs and getting them returned with scratches? Mad at yourself for letting the little one get that favorite DVD of yours? On a tight budget? Then this is a very simple and cheap way for you to fix those CD, DVD, Video game scratches without having to go out and by expensive disc cleaners.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A scratched CD
  • Tooth-paste or peanut butter
  • 5 minutes
  • Water
  • And a soft cloth
  1. Step 1

    Get your scratched CD, tooth paste or peanut butter, soft cloth, and head towards a sink, faucet, or some where you can control the flow of water.

  2. Step 2

    Very gently spread the peanut butter/toothpaste across the whole surface of the disc.

  3. Step 3

    Let it sit for at least five minutes scratched side up.

  4. Step 4

    Run the CD under a light stream of lukewarm water until all of the peanut butter/tooth paste is off of the disc's surface.

  5. Step 5

    Finally, gently wipe any water and remnants of the peanut butter/toothpaste off with your cloth.
