Step 1
JackHopefully you will never experience having a flat tire while going down the interstate.
If this should happen make sure you make it far off the road. This makes it dangerous to
change a tire; so if you have never changed one before then now would
not be a good time to change your first one just call a wrecker service. -
Step 2
First your car needs to be on flat ground.
Block a tire that you are not changing by placing something behind the tire.
Make sure the car is in park and the emergency brake is on.
Locate the spare tire. The jack & tire iron should also be in the same compartment as the spare.
you can usually find it in a hiding compartment
in the trunk or underneath the car.
Place the jack under the car depending on the car and jack as to where to place it but common since will help you a little.
Once you have found the proper place to jack it usually from the side frame just behind the tire that you will be changing
underneath the edge of the car there should be a notch that the jack fits.
make sure the jack is on level and hard ground.
With jack in place begin to jack the car up .
Jack till the tire almost lifts up. -
Step 3
Remember Righty Tighty Lefty Loosey.
on some cars there is apiece that should easily be removed with a screw driver that is covering the lug nuts.
Once that is removed then you can loosen the lug nuts.
Finish jacking till the tire starts to raise off the ground.
Finish taking the lugs off.
Remove the tire and replace with the spare. Hopefully its not a
Donut if so drive safely and get a regular tire as soon as possible.
Replace the lug nuts and tighten, make sure they are all tight.
Lower the car.
Enjoy

on 11/8/2009 Very well said about the Warnings, people forget that donuts can't go 55 or 65 down the road.
