Learn how to find cheap Las Vegas vacation deals.

When was the last time you planned a vacation to Las Vegas, Nevada?

If you are a frequent visitor, you probably know some ways to find vacation deals.

However, there are plenty of advertisements for great deals on travel, hotel reservations, restaurants, shows, and where to gamble, but you need to read the fine print.

If you've never been to Las Vegas, or it has been many years since your last vacation there, then keep reading to find out how to keep your Las Vegas vacation simple and cheap.

The following briefly outlines for you how to find cheap Las Vegas vacation deals that will make your trip not only less expensive, but less of a hassle.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Booking your flight. Unless you live in the few areas of the country that are within an 8-hour drive of Las Vegas, you will likely need to book a flight. Las Vegas is as busy in the hot summer months, as it is in the cooler desert winter. Crowds can flock to Las Vegas suddenly if there is a special show, a special casino deal, or any one of a multitude of conventions that are scheduled there throughout the year.

Book your flight as far ahead of time as you can to lock in the best rates. As your trip approaches, and if you haven't bought airline tickets, the prices can go up sharply. You can usually find good deals online with the different travel brokers like Expedia, Travelocity, and Priceline. My suggestion is don't just use the three major sites but check out some of the lesser known sites too (see resources below for another good website that compares airfares).

Flights tend to be cheaper on airlines that have hubs in your city. You can usually get a direct flight for good rates with these airlines. Southwest is also a popular airline that is notorious for cheap airfare.

  2. Step 2

Don't rent a car. Save literally hundreds of dollars required to rent a car, plus gasoline, for a week. This is why you should stay in one of the many beautiful hotels and hotel/casinos that line the Las Vegas Strip. Everything you could possibly need or want is contained on that mile-long strip. You won't need a car at all if you stay on or near the strip.

  3. Step 3

Don't book extravagant hotel and show packages. These packages can get expensive, though they are presented in a way to make it appear as if you are getting a great deal. Show tickets are rarely discounted, even when added to a room package. There are plenty of inexpensive or free venues for entertainment all up and down the strip. Trust me you will have plenty of things to see on the strip that are free to the public. Most shows are overrated and overpriced.

  4. Step 4

Another great way to get cheap Las Vegas vacations is by taking advantage of timeshare offers. You can get a weekend for free at nice hotels just by sitting through a 2 hour sales pitch about timeshares. Just don't get caught up in all of the "it's such a great deal" sales double talk.

  5. Step 5

There are many ways to find cheap Las Vegas vacation deals, and most of them you can figure out on your own. Use common sense, and remember that the offers that seem too good to be true probably are.

While you're here be sure to take a look around for more tips and information on finding cheap Las Vegas vacations.
