Things You'll Need:

  • Dancing Shoes
  1. Step 1

Prepare yourself. If you are nervous about dancing at an event, practice beforehand. If you have a few moves that you have practiced, you will be less intimidated by the idea of dancing. Once you're out there, you will be able to relax and have a good time.

  2. Step 2

Be friendly. If you are not a confident dancer, be open to dancing with a partner. If you want someone to ask you to dance, be friendly and look interested. If no one asks, find someone to ask yourself. Sometimes dancing with a partner that is a strong dancer will give you the confidence to make an attempt on your own.

  3. Step 3

Dress for dancing. You will dance better if you are comfortable. If you are planning on going dancing you should wear comfortable shoes that are not too slippery, and clothes that you can move in. You will look awkward if you are uncomfortable, so dressing appropriately can go a long way toward making you look comfortable dancing.
