Things You'll Need:
- List
- Organizer
- Time to plan
-
Step 1
This will be your special day. So you need to be the one to be sure everyone is on top of their game. If you do not have a wedding planner to do this work for you, then here are some tips to make it go smoothly for you on your very special day.
-
Step 2
Once you have the date set, and you know your colors. Then the fun begins. You should assign tasks to responsible people only. If you give some one a job to do that you know is not very reliable, or will change what it is you want, Do not put them in charge of anything. After all this is your day. No one else's.
-
Step 3
You can designate a decorating committee, set up committee, clean up committee and the like. It includes more of the family and no one feels left out.
-
Step 4
When deciding where the reception will be, and whether it will be a band or Disc Jockey, you need to be very specific on what the music will be. If you have a mixed crowd, then it should be a mix, and if you want the guests to be able to request songs, then again, be very specific. Get everything in writing as well. It makes things easier when you enter into a contract with someone there will be no gray areas.
-
Step 5
When you order your flowers, be very sure they can get what you want. Do not wait til the last minute and then find out that they may have to substitute for something less than you want. Designate as much as you can to others, but be prepared to follow up and be sure they are on track.
-
Step 6
When ordering your cake, take your time and be certain it is what you want. Many times the bakers will steer you to "a more popular design" but again, this is your day and you have the right to tell them that you want something different than that.
-
Step 7
Once you have booked the Church, hall, caterer, Band, and ordered your dresses, flowers, and anything else you decided on, there is only one thing left for you to do, stay on top of things and enjoy your very special day. Good luck and stay focused.
