The stress of the school year is over and it is now the perfect time for summer crafts! Most children love to color, draw, build, and create! Many stores across the country offer family friendly workshops. With a little research, you can find lots of great activities to do for absolutely free! Here are a few ideas about just how to find free summer crafts for children!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • children who love to draw, paint color, cut, glue, build, etc., etc.
  1. Step 1

    LAKESHORE LEARNING STORE
Check with your local school supply store for their summer schedule. School supply stores are a great place to find free summer crafts for children. Lakeshore Learning not only sells tons of cool arts and crafts materials, but also offers free crafts for kids on Saturday mornings. Each activity is completed right in the store! Young children will love this opportunity. Check with your local store for details.

  2. Step 2

    LOWE'S HOME IMPROVEMENT
Inquire at your local home improvement store about activities for children. Many home improvement stores offer free craft workshops for children this summer. You can bring your children to Lowe's on Saturday mornings for their build and grow clinics. Children will complete a different craft during each session and can proudly bring it home to display for the entire family! Call or visit your local Lowe's for additional information.

  3. Step 3

    HOME DEPOT
Ask about kids activities at several different home improvement stores. Home Depot is another home improvement store that offers free do-it- yourself workshops for kids. The craft sessions are designed to give children an opportunity to complete a project and feel proud of themselves as a result. Projects include things like building tool boxes, birdhouse, and mail organizers. Workshops are offered on Saturday mornings and you should get there early because children will also receive a small orange apron (perfect for all those arts and crafts activities at home) while supplies last. Check with your local Home Depot for dates and times.

  4. Step 4

    BASS PRO SHOPS
Visit stores that are geared towards the whole family. Bass Pro Shops (Outdoor World) offers a free family summer camp. Parents and children can come in several days each week during the summer and learn all about the outdoor world. Workshops include topics such as bird watching, plants and insects, and animal identification. Children's craft activities are also offered. Call or go online to find your local Bass Pro Shop.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take your children to all kinds of free craft sessions and let their imaginations run wild!
