How to Transfer Money Using a Credit Card
With websites such as Western Union and PayPal you can use your credit card to send money to family or friends. Shop around as fees vary from site to site. For our example, we will use PayPal.

Both you and the recipient will need a PayPal account. Setting one up is free. Since you will be transferring money via credit card, you will need to supply PayPal with your credit card number, expiration date and three-digit security code. The site will prompt you how to do this.

Log into your PayPal account. Click on "Send Money." The next screen will ask for the e-mail address that your recipient's PayPal account is linked to. You will also be asked to fill in the amount you wish to send. Below that line, click on "Personal" and select the relevant reason for sending the money.

Click "Send Money" on the next screen if you are satisfied with the details of the transaction.

When the next page comes up, click on "view transaction details" and print them out for your records. Both you and the recipient should receive e-mails confirming the transaction.

Tips & Warnings
PayPal is about half of the charge of Western Union to make money transfers via credit cards. Western Union, however, will allow you to send money to one of its offices for pickup; whereas PayPal requires the recipient also to have a PayPal account.
You may have to pay a cash advance fee to your credit company on top of the fee you pay to the online transfer site.
