How to Burn a Song on a CD

With the use of a computer, burning songs onto a CD is simple. In fact, it can take less than five minutes to burn a full 80-minute CD, and computers are powerful enough to burn error-free CDs while you do other tasks.

      Install Roxio or use your equivalent CD burning program. For this tutorial, we will use Roxio as an example, though many programs work in a similar fashion.

      Open Roxio and choose Audio, then wait till it brings up the project screen.

      Click Create Audio CD for Car or Home CD Player.

      Click Add Music and browse through the folders until you find the song you want to burn, and either double-click the song or highlight it by clicking once, then click Add.

      Load a blank CD-R into your CD burner, then click the red button labeled "Click Button to Continue" under Audio CD. If you have only one song, a message will pop up warning you that once the disk is burned, you can't add any more information to it; click Yes and burn the CD.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you add multiple songs in Add Music, you can use the up/down arrow buttons to arrange the order in which you want them to be burned.
