How to Convert a Car Seat to a Stroller

A car seat that is able to be converted into a stroller will eliminate the need to carry a separate stroller unit in the trunk of a car, as well as prevent from having to complete the process of transferring an infant from the car seat to a stroller. While there are several different makes and models of the convertible car seat, the process is similar for most varieties. Here are the simple steps for conversion.

Instructions

    • 1

Grasp a handle of the car seat with each hand.

    • 2

Lift the convertible assembly up. This will cause the locking mechanism to release the wheel assembly, which will allow the wheels to unfold from the retracted position due to their own weight.

    • 3

The stroller is now ready for use since the wheel assembly is supported by a center strut that will keep the wheels from collapsing. There is no need to lock the wheel assembly in place.

    • 4

When converting back to a car seat, gently push the wheel assembly back to the original position and turn the locking mechanism to lock it in place.
