We are all born with specific body shapes, curves, and looks. Our looks are in large part due to genetics and unchangeable without plastic surgery. While plastic surgery may be an option for some people, it is extremely expensive, and some people prefer to learn to love the body they are in rather than surgically alter it. It is possible to create body curves by changing the way that you dress. Dressing for your specific body type will teach you to create a curvy hourglass silhouette no matter what you are born with.

      Determine what your body type is. Try taking a full-body photo of yourself and outlining your shape. Pay attention to where you are smaller or larger. Is your shape pear, diamond, round, inverted triangle, straight, or hourglass? As you are doing this, make note of where you want to create more body curves.

      Wear proper undergarments. Since underwear functions as the foundation for any good outfit, it is imperative to make sure that it fits properly. Have yourself fitted for a bra and make sure that you are wearing the proper size. If you are smaller chested, you may choose a bra to enhance your cleavage, while if you are larger chested, you may choose a bra to minimize your cleavage and give you extra support. If your middle area is your largest area, you might try a stretchy undergarment that can give you some extra tummy support. Be sure that your panties are properly fitting and that they will not show under your clothing. Having proper undergarments will not only smooth your silhouettes, but actually help to create body curves under your clothes through giving your body more shape.

      Dress your top according to your body shape. If you are larger on top, stick to styles that hug your natural curves. Think streamlined clean lines on your clothing. This will help you to avoid adding extra bulk to your torso. If you are smaller on top, choose flowing tops that will help to balance the top and lower halves of your body. In addition, a properly tailored jacket will add hourglass curves to just about any figure.

      Wear straight-leg pants, which are a winner on all body types. When properly fitted, they hug the hips and then go straight down from the widest part of the hips. This cut will create body curves at the waist while minimizing thighs or adding some balancing volume to very thin legs.

      Wear pointy-toed shoes help to elongate your silhouette and emphasize the hourglass curves around your bust, waist, and hips. Pointy-toed shoes are available in flats, heels, and wedges. With a plethora of options to choose from, you should be able to find a pair that feels good on your feet and complements your style.

      Make sure that your hair is polished. If your hair is unkempt or slicked back with gel, it will take away from your look. Nobody will notice all the beautiful body curves that your clothing has created. A professional haircut is well worth the money. Choose a style that complements your face shape and helps you to present yourself in a confident way.

      Walk with flair and confidence. Once your look is complete, the best way to show off your new curves is to be confident in how you walk. Look the world in the eye and do not be afraid to sway those hips!

      Stay fit through getting regular exercise and watching your diet. Lifting weights can add extra curves to arms and legs, while doing crunches will help to create flattering curves around your waist. Squats can help to define curves around your rear by strengthening your gluts. Diets lower in simple carbohydrates and higher in protein will help to decrease body fat in unwanted areas so that you body's natural curves show through no matter how you decide to dress.
