Southern sweet tea is the best tea to drink. It is simple to make and can be enjoyed immediately with a glass of ice! There is not much work involved and the outcome is very rewarding.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cooking Pot
  • Water
  • 4 Family Size Tea Bags
  • 3 cups of Sugar
  • Long Handled Spoon
  • Tea Pitcher
  • Ice
  • Glass
  1. Step 1

Fill your cooking pot with hot water. Wrap 4 family size teabags around the handle of the pot. Emerge the teabags under the water. They will rise back up, just leave them be. Turn the stove on medium-high.

  2. Step 2

Boil tea for 5 minutes. Adjust heat if necessary. Do not let the tea run over the edges of the cooking pot. Turn heat off and let the cooking pot sit for 5 minutes.

  3. Step 3

Add 3 cups of sugar to the empty pitcher. Pour hot tea over the sugar. Add water until the pitcher is full. Do not overflow. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Serve with ice in a tall glass. Store in the refrigerator to chill. You may also wait until the tea is cold before drinking.

Tips & Warnings
  • Let tea simmer for a richer taste.
  • Do not let tea overboil.
