How to Repair a Weed Whacker's Broken Fuel Line

It is time for you to cut and edge your lawn. First, you go to your shed and take out your weed whacker. You try to start it, but nothing happens. You try to start it again, but once again, nothing happens. Now - you are getting impatient. You start to examine your weed whacker to identify the problem. Uh...huh...now -you see why your weed whacker will not start...broken fuel line! Follow these steps and you can repair your weed whacker's broken fuel line.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • fuel filter
  • sharpie
  • semi-sharp object
  • box cutter
  1. Step 1
     

    Remove fuel filter line from gas tank. Purchase the correct size fuel line and filter, if necessary.

  2. Step 2
     

    Use a semi-sharp object to feed the line into the top hole of the tank.You should be able to push the line through until it comes out of neck where the gas is poured into the tank.

  3. Step 3
     

    Attach fuel filter to the end of the hose.

  4. Step 4
     

    Use a sharpie to mark the hose. Make sure it is the same length as the old hose.

  5. Step 5
     

    Pull fuel line through until you see the mark that you made with the sharpie.

  6. Step 6
     

    Use a box cutter to cut the hose at the mark (smooth and straight).

  7. Step 7
     

    Attach the dual and male connectors to the hose.

  8. Step 8
     

    Push the hose back into the tank until it is flush with the fuel tank. Refill the weed whacker with gas. Now - you are finished with the repair. Now- go and edge your lawn.
