Hang your laundry to dry. If the weather is nice, setup a clothes rack outside. Otherwise, you can setup a collapsible clothes rack indoors that is easy to store when not in use.

Purchase and use energy-efficient lighting. Energy-efficient light bulbs last longer and use less energy. The light bulbs may be more expensive initially, but ultimately you will save money on light bulb purchases and electricity.

Turn down the heat a of couple degrees to save significantly, and you probably won’t even notice the difference in temperature.

Purchase and install energy-efficient appliances and windows. When it comes time to purchase new appliances and windows, shop for appliances that use less energy, and windows that are better insulated to conserve heat. You may also be eligible for special tax deductions by purchasing qualifying energy-efficient appliances and windows.

Read your electric bill each month to determine how much electricity you used. Make it a personal goal or a fun family game to decrease your energy consumption, and ultimately, save money on your home utilities.
