Things You'll Need:
- Feet
-
Step 1
Know the signs and symptoms of athletes foot. Athletes foot is very itchy and is often accompanied by dry flaking skin and sometimes even blisters.
If your feet are presenting other symptoms, you probably do not have athletes foot and should seek the advice of your physician. -
Step 2
Garlic is a natural antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial. That being said, garlic is the perfect natural cure for athlete's foot.
Add crushed garlic cloves to tea tree oil and rub onto your feet twice a day.
In the evening, soak your feet in warm water and Epsom salt or dead sea salt for 15 minutes. Be sure to completely dry your feet after the soak since the fungus that causes athlete's foot thrives in moisture.
Continue doing this for two days after your infection has disappeared up to two weeks. If your condition worsens or does not get better, be sure to see your doctor. You may not have a fungal infection or you may have a very stubborn infection. Those with weakened immune systems may have more difficult infections. -
Step 3
Add garlic to your regular diet to assist in treating the athlete's foot from the inside out. Fresh garlic is the best but garlic pills and garlic powder will help.
-
Step 4
Your shoes could be harboring the fungal infection for athlete's foot and may reinfect you. Be sure to wash your shoes in hot soapy water and dry completely in either the hot sun or a dryer. Old sneakers should probably be thrown out since the cushioning in sneakers is more dense, they may be harder to clean properly.
