Long Island Iced Tea looks and tastes like regular iced tea, but packs a punch thanks to the generous amounts of alcohol in the recipe. As sweet and refreshing as iced tea, Long Island Iced Tea is best served over plenty of ice. If you don't have sour mix on hand, you can use 2 tablespoons of orange juice or freshly squeezed lemon juice to add zing to your cocktail. Serve in a tall glass and garnish with a wedge of lemon or an orange slice. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1 ounce tequila
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1 ounce rum
  • 1 ounce gin
  • 1 ounce orange flavored liqueur
  • 1 1/2 ounces sour mix
  • 2 ounces cola
  • Lemon
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Ice
  • Glass

Instructions

      Remove lid from cocktail shaker. Fill bottom of shaker with ice.

      Pour tequila, vodka, rum, gin and orange flavored liqueur into shaker.

      Add 1 1/2 ounces of sour mix to shaker. Replace lid on shaker. Shake for 20 seconds.

      Remove lid from cocktail shaker and strain into a glass filled with ice.

      Pour 2 ounces of cola into glass.

      Garnish and serve.

Tips & Warnings

  • Long Island Iced Tea is a very forgiving cocktail, so if you don't have all the different kinds of liquor called for in the recipe you can adjust the proportions according to what you do have. For example, use 2 ounces of vodka if you don't have gin.

  • Remember, the legal drinking age is 21.
