How to Create a Plaque

Presenting your employees with plaques that recognize their individual or group accomplishments is a reliable method for improving employee morale and increasing employee retention rates. Employers often integrate "Employee of the Month" recognition awards into their employee-relations programs. While there is the option to order a customized plaque from a trophy shop, you can also create a plaque yourself. By creating plaques, you can control costs and ensure each employee receives the same quality plaque throughout the year.

It should measure the same size as the acrylic certificate cover, which is typically smaller than the size of the plaque.

Most certificates include a congratulatory statement or an award title at the top of the page followed by the recognized person's full name and the reason for the recognition. Select a decorative script font for the certificate's congratulatory statement or award title and filler phrases. However, select a simple standard font, such as Arial, for the employee's name, reason for recognition and superior's name and title. The congratulatory statement or award title should be of a larger font than the remaining text.
