How to Smoke in a Hotel

If you must smoke in a hotel room, use common sense. In some states there may be laws against smoking in rooms not designated for this exclusive practice. Ask the hotel staff what their policy is and what the state law is.

Things You'll Need

• Window fan
• Duct tape
• Trash bag

Instructions

1. Reserve a smoking room. If you want to smoke in your hotel room, this is by far the easiest way to do it.

2. Go to the hotel's smoking lounge. Many hotels will have a room designated for smoking; just ask the front desk.

3. If you are stuck with a nonsmoking room, install a window fan into the window of your hotel room. These types of fans can be installed in both directions, which means you can blow smoke directly at the fan and have it quickly shuttled outside.

4. Detach the smoke detector. If you are worried about setting off the fire alarm in your room, take out the battery or unplug it. Just be sure to plug it back in when you are done.

5. If for some reason you can't disarm the smoke detector (it may be illegal to do so) then closely tape a bag around the smoke detector so as to keep the smoke from reaching the sensor.

Tips & Warnings

• If you are smoking inside, make sure you are alert and awake so as not to start a fire.
