A sweatband is not only practical for athletes, but it also can be a way to bring personal style to the workout. Matching it to your school or team colors, your favorite athletic shoes or athletic gear are just a few ways to have fun with your customized sweatband.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fabric markers Tube socks T-shirt Scissors Knitting materials
  1. Step 1

Wash your old sweatbands. Residue-covered or dirty sweatbands may be discolored, which can affect your customization.

  2. Step 2

Add lettering or design with fabric markers to match your style. Try using school colors, team colors and logos, or your own sports number.

  3. Step 3

Cut your own sweatband out of a pair of tube socks. Laying the sock flat, cut straight across the top part of the sock from left to right, making a loop to the thickness of your preference. Picking socks with designs or color is another way you can customize this look. If the socks are wide, consider using this sweatband for your head.

  4. Step 4

Make light sweatbands from old T-shirts. Cut an oblong rectangle, or strip, of your T-shirt. Cut in strategic locations to allow logos or words to show. Wrap the fabric around your wrist or head and tie the ends.

  5. Step 5

Create a custom sweatband online. Visit a website that allows custom orders, such as stbands.com, and begin personalizing your sweatband. Order one for yourself or your entire sports team, or friends.
