There are numerous ways to tie a sarong and experimentation almost always leads to a new, fresh way to wear it. Learning how to tie your Hawaiian sarong can be the product of trial and error, or you can learn how to try some simple no-fuss ideas for a fun look.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Tie your sarong into a halter dress. Wrap your sarong around your body, starting at the back and goingaround to the front. Hold the top two corners of your sarong in your hands and cross them over your chest. Tie the corners behind your neck.

  2. Step 2

Make a skirt. Wrap the sarong around your waist and knot the top corners at your hip.

  3. Step 3

Make a sarong mini dress. Wrap your sarong around your body from the back to the front, with the height a little under the arms and in line with the top of your chest. Knot the top two corners on the side or center of your chest.

Tips & Warnings
  • Find new styles and fits by experimenting with your sarong on your own; try pleating, folding in half for shorter lengths, and one-shoulder looks.
