How to Make Your Own Dell Laptop

Dell laptop computers are very popular today among students and professionals alike. Creating your own personalized Dell laptop computer is easy to do with the Dell Design Studio. Customization can be done within a matter of minutes, with the final product shipped directly to your home.

Instructions

1. Visit the Dell website (see references).

2. Click on "For Home" at the top of the screen and select "Laptops and Minis" from the drop-down menu.

3. Click on "Studio & Studio XPS."

4. Scroll down to the middle of the screen and click on the banner that says "Your Canvas Awaits." Allow the Dell Design Studio to load.

5. Click on "Select a Computer Model." Select which model you would like to use to create your own personalized Dell laptop. There are two models available: Studio 15 and Studio 17. Studio 15 may be personalized with one of five colors or by selecting a pattern. Studio 17 may be personalized with one of seven colors, trim color options, or a pattern. They both have the same processor but the Studio 15 has a 15.6" LED screen whereas the Studio 17 features a 17" LED wide screen.

6. Browse through all of the designs and patterns that are available for the model you selected. You may select "Art," "Patterns," "Classics," "(Product) RED" or plain colors from the top-right of the screen. Patterns include floral, plaid, polka dots and various shapes. Art includes the Mayan Calendar, pyramids, kaleidoscopes, images of animals and people, robots and more designs created by artists. Classics include more retro designs.

7. Select a design or color that you would like for your computer. If you have chosen a design from the "Pattern" category, use the slider below the image of the computer to choose a final design. If you have chosen Art, Classic, (Product) Red or color, move on to step 8.

8. Click on "Apply Art" to add the design to your computer. Read the description of the design on the next page and then press "Select and Continue."

9. Scroll down and choose which featured system you would like to purchase. Some featured systems include more memory, a wireless card, upgraded processors and 64-bit operating systems. Below the information on the computer select "Add to Cart."

10. Continue through the checkout process to purchase your personalized Dell laptop.
