Google Desktop Search is a utility that searches and indexes files on your computer, and displays the results in a Google search page. The application provides full search capabilities for your email, photos, music and files, and easily puts the information at your fingertips. If you no longer need this functionality or if you are noticing some of your applications (such as Outlook) are not compatible with the software, you might want to remove the Google Desktop Search from your computer.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Click the "Start" button from your desktop.

  2. Step 2

    Select "All Programs" and find Google Desktop from your program list.

  3. Step 3

    Click "Uninstall Google Desktop." Check the "Remove completely from all users" option when prompted, then click "Yes."

  4. Step 4

    Click "Uninstall." Google Desktop Search will be removed from your computer.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you want to remove your personal search index, clear the "Keep index and gadgets" check box in Step 3.
