Part your hair into three or four sections, leaving a section of hair loose at the bottom end near your neck.

Plug in and turn on your straightener. Let it heat up to the temperature of your preference.

Analyze the result. If the strand of hair is not straight enough to your preference, gently repeat step 1.

Move on to the next section of hair, repeating steps 1 and 2 until your hair is completely straightened to your liking.

Tips & Warnings
If you are looking to create a straight hair style that has a lot of body, wash or wert your hair, spritz it with a little leave-in conditioner and apply a little volumizing foam. Then, blow dry your hair in sections (similar to the instructions in the straightening process). This will give you a fuller, straightened look that has a little bounce and body.
Always spritz your hair with a heat protectant prior to applying any heat to your hair to prevent damage and singeing. Make sure that you have an open counter space to work with and, if working on a bathroom counter, there is no standing water in the sink or on the counter space. An open space will prevent you from accidental burns if the iron drops; keeping clear of standing water prevents accidental electrocution.
