Wear Wide Leg Jeans

Wide leg jeans, bell bottoms, or flared jeans are round about the same thing. They will never go out of style, no matter how many years pass. The best part about wide leg jeans is that these type of jeans compliment almost every body type. The thing is, some women commonly confuse wide leg jeans with being versatile for casual/dressy wear when that's just not true!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Let's start with basics! Yes, wide leg jeans will fit almost every body type, but there are rules you should stick to when wearing flared out jeans. First off, consider your body type. If your taller, you can get away with largely flared jeans. If your shorter, go with a wide leg but not too flared - it can look like your swimming in your own jeans.

Secondly, if your curvy - stick to jeans that are tighter through the thighs and flare out. It adds to your curves. If you are taller - stick with flared jeans that are loose fitting at the thighs. It can give you a fuller thigh.

  2. Step 2

Another important factor in wide legged jeans is the the type of shoes that you pair with your jeans. Depending on the type of style your going for, you should try it on before walking out the door.

If your taller - avoid heels over 2 inches tall. Why? Because wide leg jeans draw attention to your legs. If you want your legs to equal the porportion of your body - level shoes will ground your length. Aim for rounded or squared toe shoes.

If your shorter - you want to add length to your legs. The best shoe you could wear is a pointed toed shoe or sandal. This will lengthen your legs instantly. If your wearing heels, 3 inches or more is best. Why? Because you will not only lengthen your legs but will give the illusion of more equal features.

  3. Step 3

Wide leg jeans need to be paired for a form fitting top. We are not talking body-hugging-tight, but just fitted. The purpose of flared jeans is to give a curvier appearance. Fitted tops will enhance the curves you have without going overboard. Light material that is fitted at the waist will match perfectly with your flowing jeans.

Too tight of a shirt will only give your look at tacky appeal. Make sure you have room to move in your clothes and that your shirt will meet your pants at the hips.

  4. Step 4

Stick with dark colored jeans. It doesn't matter what type of body you have, lighter colored jeans never flatter anyone. Stick to a dark blue, brown, or black jean color.

  5. Step 5

Lastly, and most importantly - make sure your jeans fit properly. Please, don't try to squeeze into a smaller size than you should be. This will make even the smallest figure look bigger. If you want to wear low rise jeans, try it on before buying. Make sure it fits your hip width.

Good luck at all you and rock out those wide leg jeans!

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't wear frayed jeans - those went out a long time ago. It's never coming back.
  • Ask a close, but truthful friend how your jeans look before going out.
