Tile floors are an attractive addition to a home, but the grout in between tiles can easily get dingy and dirty. Keep reading to learn how you can clean tile grout, and how to seal the grout so that it has more resistance to dirt and staining.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

If your tile grout is dark, you probably wont have as much trouble with grout staining, and you can probably get away with a simple soap and water mopping of the floors. If your grout is lighter, you will want to use a cleaning solution, or a mix of water and bleach.

  2. Step 2

Take a small brush (a toothbrush works well) and scrub the tile grout with the cleaner or bleach water. Use small circular motions in order to get the best results. This should remove both tile grout stains and mildew that has developed in between the tiles.

  3. Step 3

Once the tile grout is cleaned, you will want to seal it in order to increase its resistance to staining in the future. Use another brush to apply a silicone sealant to the tile grout. Let it dry, and you will have stain free, stain resistant tile grout.
