Things You'll Need:
- Access to a sink
- A face cloth
- a source of fire (lighter or match)
- a candle
- Antibacterial soap
- Paper towels
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Triple antibiotic ointment
- A form of bandage
-
Step 1
This procedure should be done in the bathroom. First you are going to get the antibacterial soap and wash your hands thoroughly, also make sure you wash the boil area. When your done washing your hands and boil, grab the face clothe and place it under hot running water for about 3-4 min.
-
Step 2
With this step your going to grab the candle and light it with the fire source. (make sure that the candle is either flat at the bottom or in a candle holder) You will need the safety pin at this time. You will nee to bend the pin so that the pointed side is straight. You want to disinfect the pin, by burning the tip that will be penetrating your boil. You want to hold the tip of the pin over the flame of the candle for 2-3 min.
-
Step 3
Now that the face clothe and safety pin is ready. Place the face clothe on the boil.(Hold it there for 10 seconds) Remove the face clothe and prick your boils head with the disinfected tip. (You should begin to see pus emerging) After pricking the head of the boil take your two index fingers and push on both sides of the boil. (As hard as you can with stand) The boil should explode with pus. When you begin to see blood you are done. Clean area with the hydrogen peroxide and place the triple antibiotic ointment on the area the boil was, place bandage over the area. And you are now boil free....

on 7/20/2009 That sounds like something I would feel more comfortable having the doctor look at first. I see no problem with doing that for pimples but with boils that seems too scary.

on 7/9/2009 Maybe for a little one. I went to a doctor for one on the back of my neck, which exploded all over the room when he cut. He taught my wife to put "packing strip" in it so it would heal from the inside out. Had to keep the surface open until the inside healed.
