How to Do Door to Door Selling with Avon

Going door to door to sell Avon is easy. It doesn't take any more courage then any other way to sell and it is the very cost effective

Things You'll Need:

  • Avon brochures
  • Pen and paper
  • Good shoes and nice clothes
  • Positive attitude and smiling face
  1. Step 1

    When doing Avon door to door choose a time that most people will be home and in an agreeable mood. Get your Avon brochures ready by labeling them with your name and number (at least). Carr them in a bag with a pen and pad of paper to write down information. You're just introducing yourself so you can leave demo's and samples at home (schedule a time to bring those to the potential Avon customers).

  2. Step 2

    Knock on the door. Ask if they're currently being serviced by an Avon representative. If they are, say, "that's great, I'm also an Avon representative and just out looking for new customers." Then move to the next house. If they don't have an Avon representative, say, "I'm giving out free Avon brochures." Put it in front of you towards them.

  3. Step 3

    When they take the brochure, say, "I would like to add you to my drop off list and call you when it's time to order, because we all forget, so let me get your name and number." Write it down on the paper you have with you.

  4. Step 4

    Two days before your order is due, start calling those you met. If any don't want to order ask if they would still like to be on your Avon drop off list for future free brochures. Most will say yes. Keep giving them brochures and calling them.

Tips & Warnings
  • Place a sticky note on the brochure so they write down their name (spelling it correctly) and phone number.
  • After you leave the house, jot down one or two things about this person so you can use it in your conversation later.
  • This is cost effective because you're only giving out Avon brochures to those who want them.
  • Keep going in a neighborhood even if someone says an Avon representative services this neighborhood. She may have missed someone or someone may choose a new representative.
  • Remember this is fun and you get to meet new friends, neighbors, and new Avon customers!
  • Do not try to steel anyone's customers. Be polite if they have a rep.
  • Go in good neighborhoods.
  • Go to houses that look safe, if the entry door is behind a wall or in the back, go with someone else or avoid those houses.
  • Let someone know where you will be. Leave a note in your car if you choose to park it.
  • If you have a cell phone, take it with you and have it fully chaged and on.k
