Step 1
Practice what you preach. If you would like your children to have manners and etiquette at appropriate times, set a good example. When you ask the child to do something like pick up a toy you should say Thank You. When you want them to come with you into another room say, follow me please. They will you hear you saying those words and they may begin using those words while speaking to their peers and adults.
-
Step 2
Treat your husband or wife with respect. Use manners when asking your spouse to help you out. Your children may follow this act because they often like to mimic adults and teens. If you are miss manners they may become miss manners. too.
-
Step 3
Make sure you correct your teen or other older children when they fail to use manners or etiquette. Your small child or toddler may play the monkey see monkey do system with other siblings. So it is important to make sure the older sibling is using manners and etiquette as well.
