Things You'll Need:
- Healthy diet
- Aloe vera
- Tea tree essential oil
- Herbal first aid kit
-
Step 1
Seek medical attention. This is very important. I needed assistance stopping the bleeding and thought I might need stitches. It's always a good idea to pay a visit to the ER if the wound is considerable. They did some special things to get the bleeding to stop, and they dressed it in a way that encourages healing.
-
Step 2
Make sure it doesn't get infected. Keep the wound dry and try to leave it alone. Fussing with it could irritate it. If the wound wasn't bad enough for a hospital visit, keep it clean and change your bandages daily. If it does get infected, seek medical attention.
-
Step 3
Use vitamins and a healthy diet to help the wound heal faster. Foods rich in Vitamin C are a good bet. Also, make sure you get adequate protein to help keep your immune system running strong.
-
Step 4
If your wound isn't that bad and you didn't need to go to the hospital to have them dress it, you could use herbs like aloe vera to help speed healing. Tea tree oil essential oil could help prevent it from getting infected, too.
-
Step 5
Put together an herbal first aid kit to have on hand for any future incidents (see Resources below my article on how to put one together).
