How to Make an Earring Holder Wall Hanging
A crafty earring holder can help you put an end to that last-minute scrambling through your jewelry box to find the "other" earring. Create a wall hanging with a wire coat hanger and a little fabric to provide a place for your earrings to hang around without losing a mate. You'll just need a little bit of basic sewing knowledge to complete this task.

1
Cut two pieces of fabric the same width as the bottom of the coat hanger and 14 inches long. Place the two pieces together, wrong-side out.
-
2
Sew a seam, using a sewing machine or by hand, 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the edge around both long sides and one short side.
-
-
3
Turn the piece right side out. Make a row of decorative top stitches around the edges you just sewed.
Sew a straight seam up the center, and another seam between the outside edge and the center on both sides. You should have a total of four vertical rows.

Fit the open end onto the coat hanger and fold over about a 1 1/2-inch hem. Baste the hem onto the hanger. Use a whip or overcast stitch to sew across the top.
Attach small ribbon bows on each side and tie it to the wire coat hanger to keep it from sliding to the middle when you add earrings.

Hang the earring holder on the wall and add your earrings. Push the posts through the fabric and secure with the earring back on the other side of the fabric.

Tips & Warnings
You can wrap the wire in satin ribbon and a bow, or buy a hanger that is already fabric-covered.
