Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Old magazines
  • Scissors
  • Glue or Gluesticks
  • Red Construction Paper
  • Rope
  • Crayons
  • Markers
  • Paper Plates
  • Blue and Red paint
  1. Step 1

FREEDOM COLLAGE-For the first July 4th craft give children a few old magazines. Encourage them to look for pictures of things that make them feel thankful and free. Examples include food, family, friends etc. Explain that the Fourth of July is a day to celebrate freedom. Freedom gives us the ability to choose the foods we eat and the friends we pick.

  2. Step 2

PAPER FIREWORKS-The second Fourth of July craft is called Paper Fireworks. Help children cut out a red rectangle about a foot long and an inch wide from the red construction paper. After the rectangle is cut out the can decorate it with markers or crayons. Finally, help them glue a 3 inch piece of rope on the top of the rectangle.

  3. Step 3

PAPER PLATE STAR WREATH- The final July Fourth craft is called the Paper Plate Star Wreath. Give each child a paper plate. The object is to draw stars all around the paper plate. If children do not know how to draw stars it is okay to assist them. Let them color the stars in with blue and red markers, paint, or crayons. In the middle of the collage they can write "Happy July 4th".
