choose Christian Education

As a Christian parent, I actually discourage Christian parents that have their children in Christian schools from transitioning to Public School. The obvious reason is because your child will not learn about Christ in correlation to their academic studies. This hampers their Christian world view and places enormous pressure on your child to conform to the morals and standards of society.

This article is for parents trying to decide if they are going to allow their child to attend public school or continue in a Christian Private school. Christian Education is what our children need.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bible
  • Spirit of God
  • Wisdom
  1. Step 1

DETERMINE WHY YOU PLACED YOUR CHILD IN A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL: Christian Education

If you are at the crossroads of deciding to place your child in a public school, I want you to consider why you first placed your child in a Christian School. I would hope that you placed your child in a Christian School because you wanted to ensure that your child would develop a Christian World view throughout their childhood and adult life. This can only happen in a Christian environment.

There are thousands of Christian teachers that teach in the public school. I certainly honor them for being a light in sometimes very dark places. I see them as missionaries of sorts. However, those awesome Christian teachers cannot teach the bible or even reference the bible because they run the risk of being fired. So, please do not think just because there are some Christian teachers in the potential school that your child will still receive a Christian Education.

Remember in Deut.6:7-8. God tells the Jews to teach their children His precepts and principles as stated in the Bible. Our Jewish brothers and Sisters ensure that their children attend Jewish academies because they want their child's world view to be Jewish sensitive. I applaud them for their faithfulness to their religious beliefs. Guess what? As a Christian, we have to be just as faithful. Examine why you placed your child in a Christian School.

Hopefully you did not just place them in a Christian school for safety from drugs, gangs, etc.. Hopefully the agenda was to develop a Christian Child.

  2. Step 2

DO NOT BUY INTO THE MYTH THAT YOUR CHILD WILL BE SHELTERED: Christian Education

This is probably one of the biggest lies ever told. First of all, you can never shelter your child from society unless you take away the t. v., radio, computer, and all of other people in their lives that are not Christian. That would be insane!

You are not sheltering your child from the world because there are many children that attend Christian schools that are not Christian. Besides your children intermingle with children of all kinds of faith in your community and neighborhood. Don't forget, you have family members that are not Christians. So, your child will certainly still get their share of exposure to society. Remember, your focus is to develop a little disciple that becomes and adult disciple of Jesus Christ.

Would you send your child to medical school to become a lawyer? No! Of course not! Because medical schools produce medical doctors and Law school produce lawyers. It is the same resolution as it relates to Christian Schools. Christian schools produce Christian teenagers, disciples of Christ. Whereas Public schools legally can only produce students without any regards to religion.

I know! You are going to say well, I can teach them at home after they come from school. Think about this. You send your child to be exposed to thinking, morals, beliefs that you do not agree with. Your child directly or indirectly absorbs the morals, beliefs, and thinking. You then try to reprogram your child's thinking on a daily basis. That is very difficult.

Why not train your child in the things of Christ from childhood to adulthood with a consistent world view that centers around Christ? It is your decision.

  3. Step 3

PRAY FOR YOUR CHILD: Christian Education

Whatever you decide please pray for your child. This world is mean, good, dirty, beautiful, tolerant, intolerant, etc.. In other words, it can become very confusing because of the constant shifting of morals and beliefs in society.

Tips & Warnings
  • Education is very important. Make choices that are informed.
