So you have an iPhone and are wondering how to upgrade to the new operating system?

Well, as I have found with upgrading my own phone, it is extremely easy - although time consuming, so make sure you set aside at least 15 to 30 minutes to complete this.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Download the new 8.2 iTunes.

By opening your iTunes, it should automatically alert you to download the new version of iTunes. Accept the upgrade, and wait about 10 minutes so it can be downloaded and installed.

  2. Step 2

Once iTunes is installed, you will be asked to restart your computer. While this is not necessary for you to upgrade your iPhone's Operating System, it is highly recommended.

  3. Step 3

Once your computer is restarted, plug your iPhone's cable into your computer's USB port. Connect the cable to your iPhone.

  4. Step 4

Open iTunes, and on the left hand side, you will see your iPhone's name under devices.

  5. Step 5

Click on your iPhone's name. This will take you to a screen, which asks you to check for updates.
Click the 'check for update' button.

  6. Step 6

    Then click download and install.

Be sure not to disconnect the iPhone until the update is complete, which will take between 15 to 30 minutes.
