How to Search for an E-mail Address

  1. Step 1

Try using a reverse email website (see Resources). Type in the first and last name of the person's email you're searching for. Also, if you can, include their city and state. Click on the "Search" button to continue. Click to view the results. You will be prompted to sign up for a free account to view the contact info and be able to email the person you're looking for.

  2. Step 2

Try using Yahoo! People Search if you think that the person may have a Yahoo! email address (see Resources). You can do the same for other websites like Yahoo!, like Google or MSN.

  3. Step 3

Try searching social networking websites, like MySpace and Facebook. These are usually the most simple way to find someone. Once you have found the person you may need to add them as a friend. Your friend also may not post their email address on their profile, but you can simply message them and ask for the email on the social networking site.

  4. Step 4

Use Wink.com to search all the social networking websites out there at once (see Resources). Wink's search engine is especially helpful for searching in social networking sites that you may not have an account in or know about.

  5. Step 5

Try company and school websites. If the person you're looking for went to college then they most likely still have an active email with the university. Go to the college's website and look for a student directory. Also, if you know of past or present places that the person may have worked at, you can try searching the company websites as well.
