Cleaning your shower curtain is not only important for aesthetic reasons, but sanitary ones as well. Mold and mildew thrive in warm damp places and bathrooms boast a perfect environment. Remove the shower curtain from the rod and make sure none of the little plastic loops come off with it. Those can stay on the shower rod.

Put the shower curtain in the washing machine with one white towel. The towel will help by brushing up against the shower curtain in the wash and help it to get clean.

Start the washing machine and add a cup of bleach. If your shower curtain isn't completely white in color, than use a color-safe bleach to avoid fading it.

If f there were noticeable hard-water stains or mold spots, allow the shower curtain to soak by turning your washing machine off for at least a half-hour after it is full of water.

Hang the shower curtain back on the rod in the bathroom to dry.
